Yes! That was the look in her eyes... The same as his when gun was aimed at his head. He watches for the gun behind her eyes when they made love, her look only heightened his passion.
The comment about ruining his mood has only been a flirtatious phase, he wanted her as she had always been. Their very last meeting was in Springfield in a small apartment she stayed. The clamor of all night construction across the street covered the murmurs of their lovemaking. Flashes of a welder's electric arc light raked through the window, soldering their bodies together in it's blue heat.
After peeling their bodies from each other, they lay motionless, absorbed in their own thoughts. A particularly violent flash of the arc raked them again, and it was in the glare of that light he said those words to her. "Love must end in tragedy before it can be perfect." the sentence was not intended as a promise. "C"
