Silent Moments

by Alisha Khan   Feb 7, 2012

In those silent moments,
Sitting alone,
Staring with all consciousness at nothing,
I yearn to speak to you.
I long to see that glare in your eyes,
Feel your flesh, taste the sweetness in your breath.
But, helpless I find my-self,
Unable to swim across the ocean of tears,
What bitter separation,
I can't get to you.

The guilt of my sins in your absence,
Filling my-self with the love of strangers
Stains my heart, makes it black.
Yet I satisfy my-self in your memories
It colors me anew
Still,
What bitter separation,
I can't get to you.
