Long Distance

by eR   Feb 8, 2012

So this poem is about a long distance relationship. And it is... a bit long :) But please read & tell me what you think!

The days blur together, nights aren't the same
This distance & resistance...
I'm beginning to forget my own name
You know why you go, but don't forget why you came
Back.

I can't imagine a world without you
& it might sound kind of lame...
Maybe a tad corny, but that's just the story
Who'd have thought
Your morning glory
Would die so fast
Am I destined to be apart of your past?
You know I want this to last
But the flag's half mast & I'm down to my last
Hope.

& you know once that dies
All that's left is despair
So let's go right
You know life ain't fair
But I don't believe in fate
I make my own
Free will, there's no debate
Time's a witch but we'll compensate...
"What happiness lacks in length, it makes up for in height"
So baby don't stress for this midnight fright
Will soon be out of sight
Just wait for the sunlight

Yea everything was looking mighty fine
When you walked in
Lit up the whole room
But once lights go out, all that's left is gloom

Will feelings stay the same, if we're never face to face?
Tell me how long can two hearts keep up,
At such an ugly pace.
