Rain

by Mason Robb   Mar 18, 2012

Lying in my bedroom, restful and calm,
Listening to the rain that falls,
It flies through the open windows
and occasionally lands on my arm.

Pelting down on the roof-top,
Tapping out a secret code,
The rain develops a melody
To me; Here in my abode.

It starts by singing rain-drops
And then it hums straight lines,
Followed by torrents and bucket-fulls,
From heaven this tune defines.
