Drops

by Skyfire   Mar 29, 2012

Like pennies in a wishing well
bouncing,
spreading little flicks of light
across the rooftops and the cobblestones.
Maps created in miniature detail,
lush with snaking rivers and waterfalls
that splash down the sides
of blue and green umbrellas.
Surging over gray pebbles
and spilling into the street,
reflecting fractured heavens
in translucent ropes
that run across the borders of
the blurring earth,
binding this ball of gray matter
into brilliance,
gleaming--
a splintered sun.
