I Love You

by Jillian   May 8, 2012

Eyes as dark as the night sky,
It's amazing, the love between you and I!

Your skin so rough as I touch your face,
But your lips so soft with a tight embrace.

Your smile so loving and so free,
As free as the thought of you and me.

Dark times have stabbed each of our hearts,
But your touch heals the wounds that want to keep us apart.

I run my fingers through the thickness of you black hair,
I'm screaming out for your help, can't you hear?

Compared to Browning's, "How Do I Love Thee?"
My love for you is so deep, I don't think you can see.

Loving you has saved my life,
Trust me when I say I'd take away any strife.

Brown eyes as dark as the night sky,
Whites so red with a somber high.

Denial is what that has put me in,
I never wanted to accept you'd commit such a sin.

But I'm still here and I promised I'd never leave,
All of your pain that's killing you is what I'm trying to relieve.

I know it's hard, I know it's tough,
I know nothing could ever be as rough.

I've seen you cry because it hurts so bad,
I've saved your life when you were highly sad.

Sit down love and take a breath,
I promise we'll make it with no regrets.

Put your hand in mine dear and never let go,
Let's take this time together nice and slow.

There's nothing that we can't ever do,
Just don't forget that I love you.
