Beauty in Red

by Tyler Moore   May 24, 2012

As we walked over to the bar
I could feel everyone's eyes following us.
Well just you for the most part,
unless they were sizing me up,
trying to figure out whatever it was that I had
that let me get you,
what was it that made me special.

It scared me a little,
realizing that you could have anyone
you wanted in that room.

When we sat down
I glanced around at the guys standing near us
watching you, in your slender red dress,
but as I turned back to you,
you were looking at me,
as if we were the only two people in the room.

That's when I gave you
that stupid crooked smile I always do
when I'm nervous.
You leant over,
as if to whisper something in my ear,
and your soft lips gently brushed up
against my stubbly cheek.
Your hand reached out
touching my leg,
as if to make sure that everyone there
knew you were taken,
that you were mine.
As you sat back up you were smiling
and that's when it happened.
That's when I knew I was falling in love with you.
