Our day

The day he held me close beside
My heart it cried for joy inside
He held me close with no fear
And there was no one near to jeer
He held me with a passionate love
An angel, he was, sent from above
He stroked my hair and said to me
I’ll hold you close until we can be

We were one as we walked along
Having a laugh and singing a song
We held hands and swung them high
And our heads were up in the sky
A romantic lunch we had in the park
We played out there until it was dark
And then one day he said I love you
Overwhelmed I said I love you too
