My Angel, My Savior

by Cassie Bowerman   Aug 2, 2012

Running in the dark, the walls were closing in,
Frightened and alone, spiders crawling on my skin.
I screamed for help, "Please someone save me",
Struggle for escape, "Please I cannot breathe".
Ran into a dead end, too late to turn back,
I gave up all hope, accepted the end as fact.

Light poured in around me, coming from above,
You swooped me up and placed me in a fruitful grove.
A chance to start anew, use what I had learned,
A chance to find the love I didn't think I earned.
Had it not been for my savior, my angel heaven sent,
I'd never have this chance, the chance to repent.

I have spent my life searching for the something more,
Daydreamed about it, I'd find it on a distant shore.
Perhaps it's not the distance of which I had dreamed,
But the concept of the love I always kept concealed.
Never would I show this love to someone else,
But you my darling savior are different from all else.
