Wow, what a powerful poem, MA!

    "Someday, little girl, carry me
    a sack full of photographs,
and tell me if you've found

    the answer yet."

That ending just gets me, I love the imagery here and can picture this so perfectly. It really gave an awe/sad factor at the end with this breathtaking stanza. What a perfect ending.

I stumbled over this part and think maybe you have a typo or forgot to add a word

    "would be better, perhaps,
    they no one showing up
    to take you home"

I've read it a few different times and can't make sense of it lol.

    "but others don't have expectations
    worth risking more breaths on."

Love this. I love how it stuck out with different structure than the rest of the piece, and I love the wisdom here. So much truth!

    Brilliant poem!

Thank you so much Britt! I do see the typo, I just changed "they" to "then". I think that's what I meant. Appreciate it :]

This was a really great story Id love to know your inspiration(pm please lol) as my main poetry is narration piece that tell a story you nailed it

I do agree with britt the end got me I could play it all in my head such a deep write.

    Lies could be like that
    loud bird you cross whilst
    traveling home, telling you
    you aren't that lonely,
    but that you're far
    far away....

I just loved this every time I hear the bird now
I will think of this poem

Overall this poem had everything it needed I have to say it seems diffrent to your normal style from what
    I've read but ,

    It was amazing 5/5
