Skeletons of me

by Erica Flemming   Aug 15, 2012

Skeletons in my closet
The devil in me bed
who is this woman staring back at me
could this be the same old me
or is this stranger an angel in disquise
upon her body are black and blue marks
her eyes are filled with pain and tears
she wont admit to being hurt or weak
she wont accept this nightmares defeat
She heads into the battlefield without any armor or weapons
She fights in the name of love and faith
they shattered her body with their hands
they destroyed her heart with lies
they erased her mind with the sweetest of ease
can someone please come save this broken girl
reshape her broken battered body
mend her heart with needles and thread
bring new memories to a once hollow space
give her the sweetest love and joy
give her one last reason for a heartbeat
or like all the others like her must she accept defeat
