You Could Be Right

by Beautiful Chaos   Aug 20, 2012

I drank you in
Your lean lines
Half buried walls
Your tempestuous flesh
It calls to me
Yet wishes me away
We are a walking contradiction

Silent, when we should speak
Speaking, when we should listen
Indifferent
Though it is the death of love
So scared to be human
Though we are

Feeling things we don't want to feel
Don't know how to feel
How to trust
Scared to fail
Yet fearful of success
Of our own existence

Every scar aches
Sears with doubt
But the rest of me
The rest of me longs for you
Like the desert longs for rain
I thirst you

You are quenching
Refreshing
Burned into my senses
Sewn into my psyche
Dreaming or awake
I find you

I feel you
In my head, where I don't want you
In my heart, where I can't stop you
In my flesh, where I have no control
A wanton creature of surrender
I fall to your imperfection

Everything I am not
You are
Everything I thought I wouldn't find
I found in you
Wrong
So you could be right
