Tender Mess

by MyHalozChokinMe   Oct 17, 2012

When I am overwhelmed by my tenderness for you, my

attempts at language prove futile, my words become a

tangled mess of particles run rampant and adverbs

hanging off the ends of sentences...

So, I retreat into my thoughts and give myself over to

silence, allowing those thoughts to speak perfection, to

breathe life into the quietness.

Only in the stillness can my thoughts speak volumes,

can I whisper words of devotion and provide an

explanation about how very deeply I love you.

Were I to endeavor to give voice to the passion in my

heart, I would fail and my words would sound like a

loudly clanging cymbal.

Nothing but noise.

So, there will be times in our loving when I will become

quiet. Not because I don't want to tell you what is on

my mind, but because I want to tell you everything and

the tenderness somehow gets in the way...

This is very simple but powerful, and in time the tenderness won't get in the way and you will be able to speak your mind without worry or fear of what comes out.

The love in this poem sounds unconditional, and this is what you need to learn that it is safe to be yourself. Safe to be heard.

    Well done.
