I Drink Clouds

by DE Navarro   Nov 8, 2012

Clouds all around us
flow in rivers
sit in oceans and lakes
gather in puddles or pools
rise from marshes as fog
and I drink clouds everyday
sometimes flavored
like lemonade
other times from tap
or even purified
before the sky sucks them
droplet by vaporized droplet
back aloft into the atmosphere
humongous cotton-balls
in the vast blue pastel
or dark angry anvils
pouring out their wrath
twisting across the land
crashing bolts dazzle
but calm follows serene
as swollen streams trickle
and bubble their way to rivers
and sit in oceans and lakes
gather in puddles or pools
things grow because of it
and I drink clouds everyday
and wash myself in that
of which I'm mostly made
in me and all around me
in everything this substance
of life and living--water.
