Quite confusing . But what I got from it is the guy is very wise and deep. He drew what no one really sees but what is always there hidden somewhere.

So the girl was jealous and wanted to ruin the painting but instead she was thanked by the painter by putting her in the image.

So the message that I got.. bad intentions that seem to be good intentions may go rewarded...

because the girl thought of the animals and how they are harmed the painter realized what the animals go through... so the bad intention of the girl instead turn out to be good intention lol

    Okay, sorry, I can't explain.

Luce, The girl was thanked for saying that smoking is bad and hurting animal is not good (Sir, I think you'd better replace that pipe with a flower and that safety with one of no harmful gear)
Don't you think Luce that she deserves adding her to the image?

    Yes, Sir.

But here is the why of my thoughts.

"She hesitated to talk but her jealousy couldn't stop"

Jealousy.. to what? the man was creating an image and the girl was jealous. When one is jealous, one might usually try to ruin something. So the girl was jealous of the painter's skill and decided to ruin the image by saying what she said.

"To add a flower instead of a pipe and a safety with one of no harmful gear."..

Her request was that of a humble girl and the word Jealousy fits not in the context of the story. Unless, it was intended to create a twist and to make the reader believe that the real intention of the girl was not to make the painter become conscious of how animals are harm but rather to ruin the image the painter created.

In my opinion, The word Jealousy is what gives that idea. If on the contrary was disgust or distress, then I will go, the girl fell offended or bad and her intentions for mentioning to the painter what she did are good.. So I'm so glad the painter included her in the image. The girl will feel excited and happy.

In the case of jealousy, my thoughts are...

ah, the girl has bad intention but the point she made is a good one therefore good that she is rewarded. She will not expect to be rewarded and since her intentions was to ruin the painting.. she will feel bad inside and that will be her punishment as she is rewarded by the painter.
No one else but her will know that.

Beautiful... I love the message you want to give here sir..... We often overlook what our art could actually spread messages across and you did a humble work of spreading a good message... Loved the descriptions:)
