A Diamond In Protected Glass

I have been so careful with my heart
As if it was a diamond in protected glass
Scared that with a single tap it would shatter.

Then you came along and stole it
Carried it away so gentle and swift
Like a feather in the wind
This happened so fast that before I noticed
It was yours.

My whole life I've watched out
For what my heart wanted
Hoping not to fall through the cracks.

Then you came along and I tripped over my own feet
I fell faster then what I could control
I fell so hard I was scared to meet the end.

What I hadn't expected was
For you to be at the bottom
Waiting to catch me if I did

I am thankful we met at the bottom
