You remind me of my own poetic style 40 years ago. Daring, willing to go outside the expected to communicate my thoughts and insights, forcing emotions through a meat grinder in order to understand what I was capable of articulating. You do all these and more.
Your poem is more straightforward than the structure reveals.

The sentiment is both raw and universal: a cancer patient glowing from radiation treatment, doomsday paper prognosis. These images claw at the safe life we all take for granted - until we are put, as you say, on equal grounds as the terminal victimof this 21st century plague.

"You remind me of my own poetic style 40 years ago."

That made me smile, thank you Larry :)

I do push myself quite hard if its of great importance for me to learn and understand something...

Truly having to fight for life is something i personally don't have to do but I watch a few do it everyday with a smile...

      Inspirational, brave people!

I had to keep coming back to this one, its very close to home for me and I hit a bit of an emotional roller coaster...

      But

I wanted to tell his story from his eyes, then just maybe I might have a small understanding for the shoes him and many brave, inspirational ill people stand in... When fighting to live!

My heart goes out to all of you <3

    OMG
    O.O
This is truly touching, your words really touched me, I dont have someone in my lofe who has cancer, I know one though, but I know its hard to watch them suffer, and you're not able to do anything. Just trying to stay smiling, and make them smile too.
Those are people we must look up to.
    Really awesome piece Natasha:)

Natasha, I can imagine how painful this was for you to write. Not only for the fact of writing a poem about this illness to begin with, but to try and imagine what is like for your friend. It can be so hard when they feel one thing and we think another, like when they lose hope and we cant bear the thought of them thinking that way.

You have interpreted his state of mind well and I imagine it would be this way for a lot of people who go through this.

I love the layout and everything of this piece, it is very deep and it shows so much emotion that is from the heart,

I hate ofcourse, that this is a real poem, but I hope in some way it maybe helped or comforted you to get this out.

It was a brilliant job, so well done and thank you for sharing it with us. xx

A very powerful piece that is filled with evocative imagery of the reality of death. The structure is simply creatively producing the right pause at just the right time. Your dark and precise word choice made this piece truly an almost hair-raising poem.

    Well done!
