Dark Love

by Distant Traveler   Mar 22, 2013

Each of our fragile lives
Spirographs of complications
Intricate spinning circles
Tangled webs and equations

You begin to unravel my thoughts
With the gentle touch of your fingertips
Experiencing a blissful hell
As into this paradox we slip

Sleeping with my eyes wide open
I live in this bittersweet dream
Unsure if it's a reality
Or a sub-conscious escapism scheme

Desires so strong they become needs
Overwhelming cravings for each other
A fire becoming an inferno
Out of control, it must be smothered

Untouchable living in our minds
But our surroundings disintegrate
We must dehumanize these feelings
Force our connection to dissipate

So we walk away from this dark love
Hiding in plain sight, eyes strained
We know what we are capable of
But choose not to cause the world this pain
