Setting the final dot

by Ole Carsten   Apr 4, 2013

Standing in front of family,
Declaring my love, risking my neck,
The notes are not my language,
The words are mine, but translated.

I hope the meaning follows my thoughts,
Avoiding being funny, avoiding difficult sentences,
Does that make me a fool?, or uneducated?
It adds tension inside me, the volcano is near eruption.

I had made my speech and asked, now there is silence,
Oh Jesus, I am a fool, training was not enough?
Then a tear in your sister's eye,
A smile on your parents face, I heard a yes, echoing.

The rest is only a blur living in me forever,
I remember only this word "Ano",
Now I am longing to hear it once more,
Setting the final dot, giving the last lovely vow.
