I am sorry, forgive me

by Gloria Velardi   Apr 6, 2013

There she sits in silence,
but there is chaos in her head.
He set her soul on fire,
but she has nothing left to tell.

Thinking it over,
every word,
every insult.

She is left to cover
every tear,
every regret.

Still, she can put her pride aside.
Forget his lack of respect,
forget his bitterness,
forget his faults.

Even though she knows she's right.
Didn't say anything bad,
told her feelings calmly,
expressed her thoughts gently.

Now, how can he affect her this way?
"Forgive me, I'm sorry": that's what she's gonna say.
And she actually is, that's the saddest thing.

She wants him to the point she deprives herself her pride.
He loves her for sure, but cannot put his ego aside.

She knows all this, she wonders why.
Why does he act like that?
Why do I act like this?

Still, she does not have time nor will to think,
for he is mad again and cannot give a reason why.
She's the only one who can make it "right".
"I am sorry, forgive me.." she's gonna say....

Will she ever forgive herself for degrading herself this way?

This is absolutely beautiful! The emotion that was put into this was amazing, though the words seemed simple at times, I could really feel all of her emotions... Incredibly well penned, I look forward to reading more :)
