Comments : Euthanasia for a Dying Hope

Really interesting I just saw this poem now because when went over the etymology of euthanasia here, I think in the cases of many people we automatically think of it as something "bad", along with our religions that state it is considered an evil killing. Etymologically however it actually means a pleasant death. Someone is helping ease the pain. I do believe there is a certain time for death and that man can't intervene, yet you bring out such a side that I can't ever understand, because I've never been faced with that choice of having that power in my hands...

There is definitely the moral issue but I like how you make this such a tranquil piece, reassuring this person almost that this is meant for them, that no one should have to suffer the worst kind of death.... it's horribly unfair how often people do have to endure the most wrenching misery at the pivotal end points of their life.

This also kind of read to me as something spiritual, prophetic, and comforting. Your simple verses reminded me of the psalms. I love your inclusion of singing and music too! How despair and silence have taken away your song and your spirit, yet there is no need to worry anymore if you do or do not have the strength...The ending line was extraordinarily provoking in thought, is this "you" the person ending another's life to 'give' life to them in peaceful ways?

Such an in-depth write. Great job!

I'm quite in awe of this piece, I thought you did an extremely awesome job of making the poem flow so effortlessly. The repetition is very effective and works perfect! Your title drew me in & made me wonder which direction you'd take me. The poem itself is so inspirational, it makes life seem so effortlessly. I'm pretty tempted to nominate this, it's simplistic but very nicely done.
