Imperfect

by Andy Rourke   May 10, 2013

First it comes on slow,
creeping,
quiet
clever words and phrases stain,
leave their mark
harmless on the surface,
but look closer,
deeper
not everything is as it seems
pry past the cover,
open the book
discover what lies beyond,
inside
what's beyond may surprise,
horrify
the pages are often ripped,
torn
they are often imperfect
