A Faded Memory

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   May 19, 2013

Autumn's gone, My Winter's here,
You're far away, Your memories near,
You were the colour in My Spring,
What beautiful memories does Love bring!

Your tinkling voice, Your twinkling eyes,
How with a smile, You would tell me lies,
Your silken hair all over your face,
Your charming laugh, Your walk a grace.

How you would chirp on an endless spree,
Your giggles of joy, Your wiggles in glee,
How you often stood, hands on your hips,
Your crooked nose, Unpainted lips.

Your tender care, Your angry stare,
Tears in your eyes, when soul you bared,
Your fingernails bitten to the quick,
Your impish wink when you played a trick.

Walking together, hand in hand,
Tracing our names on golden sands,
Your head on my shoulder, looking at the tide,
You were My Love, My Heart, My Pride.

But broken bonds will never mend,
Egos that flared, did never bend,
Sadly those moments became my past,
Such joy was never meant to last.

Forever, in my heart, in the eye of my mind,
Whatever I lost I won't ever find,
Your memories so beautiful, wherever I go,
Like Autumn leaves on Winter Snow.
