Not Over You Yet

It's Friday night and I don't want to be here but I have no choice
God why can't anyone tell this screaming banshee that she doesn't have a good voice
Drink after drink but the buzz still hasn't come
The atmosphere is electric so I must be the only one not having fun
Guy after guy has come over to us but the others are too pissed to see
For once I'm grateful that no one has approached me
Feeling like shit now but things are about to get worse
And I'm not talking about the everlasting banshee who is now butchering a verse
The door swings open just as a probably very angry jealous boyfriend storms through
And who should accidentally bump my stool none other than you
We lock eyes but no words come to mind
I try to smile just to be kind
You don't appreciate the gesture as you continue to stare
Now my heart is beating faster and I'm sweating but I don't care
Time seems to have stood completely still
And I'd look away if I had the will
It's mad but even after all this time you can still take my breath away
To be honest looking at you now makes me wonder why I didn't stay
Just when I can't take it anymore you're called over by a busty red head
Without meaning to be I'm shocked and have just stopped dead
What's wrong with me of course you're seeing someone else it's been years
Then why does it feel as though it were yesterday when you brought me to tears
I'm not seeing anyone but that's just because I haven't the time
It has nothing to do with the fact that I feel as though you're still mine
This is stupid I ended it because we both wanted different things
See what going backwards brings
One more look then you shake your head and walk away
And annoyingly there are a million things that I wanted to say
Seeing you may have filled me with bitter regret
But it doesn't mean I'm in love it just means I'm not over you yet.
