Today I mourn with the grey skies

by Mona   Jun 14, 2013

Black clouds loom over the horizon,

Blocking the warm rays of the sun.

Racing across the heavens,

These threatening clouds engulf the entire sky.

They swirl, They collide.

Flashes of lightening now lit up the darkened sky.

Followed by deafening cracks of thunder.

At last, heavy rain pours down,

Thumping the earth,

Each drop piercing cold.

Soaking me to the bone within seconds.

These raindrops continue their ravage on earth,

Ripping cruelly at the ground.

Snarling angrily at the trees,

That bend to avoid its fury.

My aching heart roars with the fierce wind.

Today, I mourn with the skies.
