This is a great poem.It takes me back to a winter that I've built inside my head.

"Unique snowflakes
Make no sound,"

I love this part so much because when a person looks out their window and it's the middle of the night and they see a blanket of snow, it's quiet, and it seems so peaceful.

Ok. Kiley. I love this poem as well because there is a lot of sadness behind the meaning that no one else sees here. I love how you put this in the nature category though. It could go both ways and I love that about poems. You did a really really good job of capitiving the sadness winter can feel like. The imagery, flow and rhyming here were so spot on. I also like the line connect with each stanza as the short lines make the flow so much better. It works well as a three stanza poem I feel. Here is what I think:

The way you painted with your words here is immaculate. I think the air could be represented as just winter but I think its more than that. I love how you used shadows here as they stand for like the cold and negative of life. Winter is also like that too. Everyone thinks of winter as this depression filled time. But I dont think thats always true. It makes you stay warm its kinda a ironic thing haha. But I think you mean that sadness fills your heart and winter is just a metaphor for that. Also like I said shadows are this dark mysterous thing.

Snowflakes are so misunderstood. I like how you can use yourself as maybe in this poem. You might be the snowflake so quiet and misunderstood and getting lost in winter or depression. Even though snowflakes make no sound there is always something inside that wants to get out. Like share what they are going through. The snow here like winter could be represented as sadnessior even tears. No one really understands why we cry expect the person crying :).

I like the ending too. There are so many things it could mean. You are straving for warmth or happiness. You want to be happy but its hard because the winter is a very difficult thing to overcome. Flames of desire brings a new element to this poem. It could be love or deeper happiness. Though its hard to tell. I think we can all be happy at some point and this poems deeper meaning shows that. Beautiful write. 5
