Re-arrange the letters floating on the page,
and bring some sense to the static I hear.
I only ever wanted a sailboat and your hand
in mine, fitting so perfectly it'd melt me.
We'd catch the winds in our sails and hair;
let everything be the way it always should.

A flare on the horizon, blinking and twinkling;
I'd never would've believed you could smile,
by your talk and walk I'd assumed you were
made of sarcastic remarks and musical chords.
The spark winks out, and my breath hisses-
the dark sky brought an end to my dreams.
