I think this is a well written short piece and that it, and you, have potential. In this poem you are able to say quite a lot and make an image in the readers mind without going into specifics. I wondered at different stages who it was that was speaking: was it alcohol itself, a sympathetic barmaid, his seemingly ex lover's words replaying in his head? Unfortunately not all of them are plausible by the end but its god that you made me think about the poem in this way. Well done, keep writing and welcome to PnQ.
