Just As We Are

by Jordan   Oct 16, 2013

The first time I fell in love it was naively-
Floating on broken promises of
Happily ever after and
Prince Charming,
But Charming never existed
At least not for me
And I was left feeling lonely
And broken hearted

The second time I fell in love it was desperately-
I was hoping you felt for me
The things I felt for you
A love so strong it was scary at first
But never as scary as the hurtful things
You would say to me when you drank

This time I fell in love quickly
And although it was fast it never felt this right
I have never loved this hard
Feeling it race in my chest and
Build in my stomach
Knowing you love me just as much
And not having to question it
Knowing you want me just as badly
And feeling your pulse quicken when
My fingers touch your skin
Or my lips graze your neck
Or when you kiss me softly, softly
Whispering that I am important
That I am beautiful
That I am loved

You make me feel safe
A feeling I've never felt with anybody before
Knowing if I need you
You'll be there
No questions asked and
No second thoughts
Just the two of us
And I don't ever want to
Quell the emotions; instead I'll
Unleash my desire and speak:
I love you
