Lovely Dream

I dreamt of you throughout the night
And in my head - a wondrous sight
There, beneath my tired eyes
A vision of you ran through my mind

All my wishes had come true
You loved me and I loved you
Never fearing what lay ahead
The fire grew, our hearts burned red

A world of wonders, our hearts combined
Ready to leave reality behind
We walked together, hand in hand
Left our footprints in the sand

A lovely dream but when I woke
My hand was empty and my heart was broke.
