Love will remain

by McKenzie Pratt   Nov 18, 2013

And even if this night is our last
My love will always remain
And these simplistic words
So dull, yet vibrant
Will hang in the air by a single thread
Sewn together by the love we have created
Never to fall, only to grow

Forever, you will be mine
As the dullest of days go by
You will remain vivid, beautiful,
Unique,
Your pained smile lightening any heart,
Letting them envision the sad past you have
So long endured..

They see the raven, sitting on the edge of the balcony
Covered in ivy, leading down to the pale brick walls
Which trail to the ever so loving willow tree,
Elegantly hovering over the dead,
Bringing a small yet powerful vibe of comfort

They see the single rose,
Which rests above her grave
That grows brighter every year
Blooming on the twenty third
Dying slowly
Only to come back more exuberant than ever before

Leaving its remark,
Leaving its love behind,
Just to keep you breathing a little longer
