Without You

by WritingtheStars   Nov 26, 2013

Letting you leave
was the worst mistake I ever made,
and I've made a lot.

It took me almost a year
to realize that I should have
never let you walk out of my life,
but I know now
what I want -
what I need.
And that's you.

Without you,
I lost myself.
I don't know who I am anymore
or what I'm doing.

Without you,
the sun doesn't seem to shine
quite as bright
and the birds don't sing
nearly as beautifully.

You were my sun
who brought out the good
in the world
and made it seem
less scary and depressing.

Without you,
life isn't much fun.

You always knew how
to turn the most boring chores
into fun games.

You could make me laugh
when I wanted to cry.

And you always knew how
to make any situation positive.

Without you,
my days are dull.

I guess that's what happens
when you lose your sun.

I've made a huge mistake
and I intend to fix it.

I need you so much,
my heart physically aches.

Without you,
I am nothing.

Question is:
What are you without me?
