As I read this I could see a magnificent yet wild horse running with a heaviness in its heart. Each line is symbolic and one needs to read around it and into it for the true meaning..excellent.

I'm a little biased since I love horses, but this is an awesome poem. There's expansive, and perhaps specific meaning that I'm not sure I understand, but this perfectly explains how you're taken for granted/not appreciated for your value- "no one I've been given to
has looked me in the mouth."
