Pearls at Your Feet

by Phillip Knox   Mar 14, 2014

I search for expression of mind
all I wanted to say that I could not
lest you see by a cruel gaze,
and wipe me from your thoughts.

Swallowed in bliss,
and sunset-berry kisses
I, your secret admirer,
nameless on these pages.

Your eyes are like sunlight
melting away the dew drops of my soul.
breathless I watch you intently,
I suppose, outside on the phone
simply conversing with a friend.

Touched by a rose
once free of thorns,
a memory
sweet, innocent, and kind
if should die-
I would be thankful to have known you.

You affect me by your movements
every inch of you is beautiful
passionate lines fall rapidly
rains of pearls at your feet.

Your summer dress, I confess
last I saw you, seductive
it's my tragedy
like sea-blue threads of tapestry
your skirt mesmerized me.

How can I find my deepest thoughts,
secrets to your heart
gem, delicate like porcelain
on sweet November months.

Topaz, poetic ballads
strands as sonnet sequence,
listen, the depths of me since
your name first mentioned.

I want to give endless motions,
a profusion of notions
shades of each emotion,
and strings, romantic, unbroken.

I can take you to ecstasy
cause cascades of intensity,
and still be your dream lover
on beds of jasmine oceans.

You don't know how you affect me
when I hear Cassy, I freeze
Love's shadow drives my soul
the sight of you takes hold of me.

Your finger tips drip of beauty
you have me in a trance
as when sun rain Angel's dance
on clouds of gold.

And though we will never meet again
your smile was enough
one moment in your presence
lingered with a touch.

I disappear into a sea of people,
once again in the shadows,
but I wanted you to know me
among the changing sea of faces.

Woman of my thoughts.
