The Letter

by Jessi   Mar 18, 2014

She was going through her things
Picking up around her room
When she found the letter
And stared up at the moon

As she read it
Tears ran down her cheeks
All the pain came flooding back
The pain that made her weak

"I know you love me,
I'm truly sorry.
But when I die,
please don't worry.

I just couldn't deal,
I know you'll wonder why.
I don't want you to,
but I know you'll cry.

But think about the good times,
all the laughs and fun.
I'll always remember.
every time you called me Hun.

Remember when we seen The Ring,
when you got scared.
You jumped into my lap,
and I whispered, 'I'll always be there.'

Think about the happiness,
and how we were in love.
Know I'll be watching you,
from up above.

I'm sorry it had to be like this,
I'm sorry I had to go.
I love you so much,
this I want you to know."

As she finished reading it
She just sat there and stared
As she remembered
All the happiness they shared

She tucks the letter away
Wipes the tears from her face
If only she would've had the chance
She would have taken his place
