Deserted

by Chris Swiderski   Mar 27, 2014

Parched of your kiss
I'm withering into dust
Swept away quietly
In the fury of your lust

My sandpaper flesh
Shreds gently from bone
My heart inside, solid
As though turned to stone

The echoing plains
Still speak of our love
Not often of ashes
But earth, dirt and mud

The substance still lingers
For you're all I know
If this seed remains in you
I must help it grow
