The Girl that Wasn't Mine

by Prince Enigma   Jul 4, 2004

We went for a stroll in the park,
We held our hands tightly at first,
I felt the most awe aspiring spark,
I thought my heart would burst.

I put my palm out,
I wanted to catch the first rain drop,
But there was a thunderstorm beyond any doubt,
I wanted it to stop.

I didn't want her to get wet,
I took out my umbrella,
Gazed at our perfect silhouette,
Gazed at my Cinderella.

She is the queen and I'm the rook,
She is the fish and I'm the bait,
She is like a warm chinook,
She was my first date.

What do I need to be yours?
I don't want to fight thousand wars.
You showed me the best time of my life,
Now I live in misery and strife.
