Me and You

by anatomyofwords   Jun 9, 2014

Undermined emotions finally were revealed
With love and intimacy lips were all sealed
Absurd were the people trying to prove us wrong
But how can it be like that when our
heartbeats make up a song?

Some people felt mediocrity when they knew
That there already exists a story of me and you
They kind of had grudges buried deep in there hearts
They try to make us look as if we've
screwed them up from the start

But nonetheless, I have learned not to care
Cause I know we're just right, I so am aware
In the past, we were both trying to cling on for love
But how can you be holding on for someone
who seemed like we really don't have?

How can they blame us for letting them go?
We were hurting too, how come they didn't know?
And now that we've chosen to be happy
They'll start doing things
with hopes of making us feel guilty

So is that justifiable just because they were 'hurt?'
We too were agonizing but they didn't hear a word
Realizations have hit them when it's already late
So how could they question us or even Mr. Fate?

Anyway, I'm happy now - more than happy actually
If there'll be interrogations still,
i'll stand up for us righteously
We are together now, and that's because of mutuality
And to be judged by them is such an overrated hypocrisy

They can curse us dead or unhappy or miserable
That is if they want to prove
themselves bitter and unreasonable
They are just humans and tomorrow they can't define
And they never will understand that
cause they just don't get how to read in between lines

Maybe for them, I have changed, and you too,
cause stronger we've become
So I must say that we can make it
through cause you'll be my girl and I am your man
I'll be holding your hand enough to let you know that I care
And that in the end, we'll be looking outward there ~

- towards a lifetime, with just me and you.
