The price of love

by Sarah Day   Jun 28, 2014

Love is not what love should be
It costs so much yet should be free
I loved you my dear and paid the price
for allowing you in to share my life
I was lied to deceived led to believe
that we would always be
But now you've left moved on you say
leaving me here with the price to pay
My heart has been broken my soul ripped open wide
my head is still spinning filled with you inside
Do you truly believe the things you defend?
What in the world has caused you to pretend -
That I was so bad and you never cared we were just people who's paths had shared?
In time you will find
you've been cruel and unkind
and nothing you do will these ties unbind
I hope that she hurts you as you have me
causing you pain agony despair
leaving you begging for me to be there
And as you come crawling back on your knees
desperately asking forgiveness from me ......
......I'll smile...... reach down .........open my arms ...
......start to embrace you and put on my charms
I'll give just enough but not all
lure you to security and then
watch you ungraciously fall.
