Paradise

by Melissa Coffman   Jun 28, 2014

Our bodies lay drenched, passions spent
Empty bottles of cheap merlot pushed aside on the
ash stained floor

Our legs entwine, searching for comfort
Candle wax trails down the peeling walls, seeping
into sweat soaked pillows

We exchange unspoken vows, eyes wide open
Cigarettes spill over and fall onto faded torn sheets

Your fingers profess their love as they caress me
Rain drips constant through the roof into a rusty
tin pot

We promise each other
We will never leave this paradise
