The Insanity We Bring Out (Day 6)

by WritingtheStars   Dec 7, 2014

Mummy and crocogators escaped
and unicorns saved the day.

We saved the deer
and ducks
and nearly swam with the fish,
if only they would've fit in your backpack.

A quest for drinks ended with
missing M&M's
and a disappointing machine.

I swear the five-year olds
in build-a-bear were more mature than us
as we obsessed over adorable stuffed bears.

Strange looks followed us
as we hopped around
talking a million miles per second
about nothing that made any sense.

Anyone who heard us coming
must've thought we belonged
in a mental hospital.

It was a bizarre day
that cheered us all up.
I'll be hanging on to these pictures
to remember all the insanity.

I've really missed this
and now a puzzle piece hangs
around each of our necks,
hoping to complete the puzzle again soon.

It is still technically Day 6. It's only 12:12 am. Shhhhh

I love how you were able to take something from everywhere we went and bring it to life so randomly - yet it fit together so well. Your flow and tempo worked really well. I could totally hear you reading this to zoe or seb or even your own kids someday about the life you had even with the grinch around. You definitely captured the insanity.

Also 12:12 fine because well say you wrote it earlier in the day :p
