The Actor On The Stage

by James Garrett   Jan 5, 2015

My life at present us not that clear,
Because I ask myself if you will be near,

To take me in your arms for good.
Is that not what we both understood?

I often wonder what is in your thoughts,
I wonder if you love me or will all be for naught?

You are used to having things your way,
Am I just an actor in your play?

I sit at home with no one to share,
I ask, do you love me and do you still care?

But do you sit at home with the other man?
And are you making long range plans?

Am I a fool all dressed out as a clown?
Waiting and wondering if you will come around?

My deepest fear is that I am without,
Please come to me with no other doubts.

If your love is sure than why do I worry?
Is it because I am part of that age old story?

My heart is heavy with the thought of you
Is your soul filled with a love that is true?

I'll trudge the path that I have lain,
And ask myself, are you worth this much pain?
