Stroke Of Midnight

by Baby Rainbow   Jan 6, 2015

Celebrations of hope and joy
echoed throughout the land
like a Mexican wave -
no country out of reach.

Fireworks cracked across the sky
as the castle gun fired,
turning 2014 into 2015.

And at that stroke of midnight
my eyes glanced around me.

Gratefulness filled my eyes,
as I was truly thankful
for everything I had inside my life.

What a beautiful poem Saffie. The first half of this poem seems to be about The celebration of the new year and how a year can change our lives forever. The new year dawns and we are relieved to survive to 2015, but inside you are truly grateful for everything that you had been through in 2014 because it has made you grow so much, whether the memories are bad or good, each one you will share in the future. This poem as a whole is lovely because the reader can relate to a lot of what you are saying and put it in their own perspective. as in everyone goes back to their own 2014 and remember. great write. 5/5
