Pouring Out My Heart To The One Not Yet Gotten Away

by Poetic Ninja aka Papachopchop   Feb 1, 2015

It has been many moons,
many days and many nights,
Since you changed your tune,
And could stand not one more fight,

Even though I know,
That it is actions that matter, not words,
I still have to write you this poem,
So I could be heard,

Since our beginning,
Some emotions have changed,
However, there are certain ones,
That have always stayed the same,

I'm molding myself quickly,
During this time spent apart,
My ultimate goal in this,
Is to stop breaking your heart,

It breaks my heart to see you,
Frustrated, stressed, and in pain,
And it is five times as bad,
If I made it that way.

I sadly admit to you and the world,
That my actions lacked respect
I didn't think before I spoke,
No wonder you object,

But with each day I spend without,
Your company, conversation, and touch,
My heart learns to appreciate,
Each of those things so much,

Yet, on this very note,
Words may run a bit dry,
So let the future then tell you,
That this too WILL subside,

At least in my eyes,
That's the view that I see,
You may not think yourself perfect,
But you are damn close to me.

You gave me a kind of relationship,
I never knew existed
I had no right to pervert it,
And leave both out hearts twisted,

I'll fight for us in every way,
Because I finally see your worth,
There is no woman better than you,
For me, I've ended my search.
