Careful not to wake you

by Damon Dozier   May 21, 2015

When I woke this morning
I woke up freezing

If you, my love, woke up in my bed

Which, by the way, my bed is where I love you most

You might have been a bit annoyed
But I simply would not allow this
I would have gotten up early enough
Careful not to wake you

As you lie asleep, I would have paused a minute and simply adore you

Start a huge fire
Climb back into my bed
Careful not to wake you

I would adore you so deeply
As you lie there in my bed

You in my bed is where I feel you most

I can't explain this feeling that drives deep inside me
But you lying in my bed is seriously where I love you most

Then when you finally wake
Nudge me slightly
Because you want me

And you want me to look deep into those blue eyes
Which is "one" part of your body I love most

An experienced I have experienced
You know when you know
I wonder, my love, do you know

As I lie there in my bed
And look deep into your soul
And you look deep into my soul

Which, by the way, I have allowed no one before
And I will allow no other evermore

Accept, of course, you my dearest
The one that I adore

I would explore
I mean deeply explore

The other part of your body

You know

The "one" part I love most

No, not those gorgeous blue eyes
Which I truly, incredibly, absolutely adore

But the other part

Need I say more
