Sometimes

by Sarah   Jul 7, 2004

Every day that passes
is another step away from you,
and I am running out of time
to profess a love so true.

We're walking on the beach,
swinging our shoes as we stroll along.
Sometimes I steal a glance or two
as you hum a wordless song.

We're sitting underneath a tree,
eating ice cream, sweets galore.
Sometimes I steal a glance or two
as you buy a little more.

We're lounging on the sofa couch,
watching some movie on TV.
Sometimes I steal a glance or two
as you stare entranced at the screen.

We're laying on my bed,
talking about things that are to come.
Sometimes I steal a glance or two
as you loudly pop your gum.

We're sitting in your room,
hugging each other so tight.
Sometimes I steal a glance or two
my tears, I'm trying to fight.

Now we're in the kitchen.
You're talking on your phone.
On the phone's your girlfriend,
I always feel so alone.

Sometimes I steal a glance or two,
I wish you'd do the same,
the silence is eating me up inside
and I'm the only one to blame.

Sometimes I steal a glance or two,
and every time I die,
and every time I make a wish,
but these words are raging in my mind.

Sometimes I steal a glance or two,
but I will always be the friend.
I wish I could just talk to you,
my broken heart won't seem to mend.

Every second that passes,
is another step away from you,
it's another moment that I've lost
to profess a love so true.
