A Single Black Rose

by Heather C   Jul 7, 2004

I was cold and dead inside
Until you walked into my iced heart
And warmed it with your dying love.

You made me happier than I'd ever been.
To hold you was heaven, but
I didn't say "I love you" when I should've.

Now you refuse me.
You left me empty inside.
You broke the heart you had once healed.

I sit here in the silent darkness
Crying as you live without me,
Forever forbidden to speak how I feel.
