Comments : Her Boy Friend (syntuit)

A clever piece here Larry that I found quite comical - I'm not sure if humour was your intention!
I guess staying in touch with an ex beau of a daughter is difficult - but it is not uncommon for the parents to become so attached to a child's partner. We always hear the negative side of that relationship, but my parents in law are (apparently) rather fond of me, so much so that I am sure they would be simply devastated if I were to part ways with their daughter......that's what my wife tells me, anyway! :)
Larry, I only know a few of the forms and I was just wondering if you could explain to me the difference between a syntuit and a senryu. I can see the syllable count is the same, so I am guessing it's more about the subject matter, or am I wrong?

Anyway, a great write, Larry, that is both enjoyable and unique.
    All the very best,
    Ben

      Ben:
A Syntuit is comprised of 17 syllables in three lines of 5-7-5. It does not rhyme and holds to most rules of the Haiku and Senryu including the juxtaposition between the two parts causing a sense of resonance. Some call this the "aha!" moment, but perhaps it need not be earth shattering to be effective. However, rather than presenting a visual message, the syntuit relies more on philosophical or reflective language. This form is an attempt to preserve the pure versions of the Haiku and Senryu forms by providing an alternative.

    Hello Larry,

a clever piece and so true too! I personally steer clear of Facebook and so far my son does too. I guess it won't be long before he asks me to 'like' him. Imagine that? I love him, so I won't degrade that emotion for, not even for Facebook!

    Take care,

    Michael

    Larry
This left me laughing...then I was thinking if it was your daughter or just a friend of the family....Hahaha I would have been so mad at my mom and dad if they had done that to me....so glad I grew up before electronics...so much simpler times.
    Take care
    Cindy

Ha. I think my parents would delete me on Facebook before they'd delete their son-in-law. Lol

    Larry,

Thanks so much for the time; that was clear and wonderfully explained.

Hehehe. Very clever indeed and how true of life today. Facebook has a lot to answer for :)

*laughs* God this is funny as heck, I know my parents would actually do that if I showed them one of my exs, but it's not that bad since some people actually like their exs and so do the parents of them since just because one person isn't with the other it doesn't mean you can't like the person.

Lovely funny poem Larry I enjoyed reading this. 5/5
