The Dust in the Room

by Brookie   Feb 8, 2016

Sunbeams shine through pearl white panels
and the warmth rises in the room,
rustling me awake from some silly dream.

Did I know that things would be this blissful?
That the world would stop every morning
as i gaze at the constellation of dust

That has gathered in our room while
I slowly come to, embarrassed,
by the drool puddle on you?

I Quickly wipe your chest
while your starting to come too,
But you don't seem to notice.

Instead, in an instant
your arms are around me
and my head is back where i want it to be.

Inevitably I fall back asleep
and like clockwork my worries vanish,
as we sleep the day away.

Your imagery is beautiful, the scene you paint here is of a first love I feel afraid to show the imperfections like drooling whilst we sleep yet one so close that you Can fall asleep in each others arms all day. How magical. The words you use and how you write them make it all the more readable.

    Good job, Em
