lovely simile usage here - the daisy grows in abundance in the lawns and fields around the world. Children and lover pick them now just like they did years ago. I can see a fair maiden making a chain of them to present to an admirer perhaps.

The word 'crenate' was a new one to me, so I thank you for this.
Definition: The condition or state of being crenate. 3. A process resulting from osmosis in which red blood cells, in a hypertonic solution, undergo shrinkage and acquire a notched or scalloped surface
The use of this word works well in describing and helping an image form in the readers mind of a wilting flower. You also describe the colour lost through this process of deprivation. Linking this to 'heartache' work really well, imagining how a heart deprived of what it needs most, not water (although this is true medically) but love. Is it not true that without love what are we but empty shells, husks of flowers that were once hydrated wonders.

Rsan, what a powerful and emotional piece you've written here because when we are starved of love it can make you feel deprived because to be loved and show love is one of the most important things after food and water of course lol.

I like the simile of the flower because yes, without love we die alone like that flower without it's water. Thirsty for love and thirsty for water.
